Statement by Licensing Minister Gerry Sutcliffe on the Live Music Forum Report

Report Cover - Live Music Forum: Findings and Recommendations

4 July 2007
081/07

Responding to the Live Music Forum’s findings and recommendations, Licensing Minister Gerry Sutcliffe said:

“Live music makes an immeasurable contribution to the UK’s cultural and economic life. That’s why we set up the Live Music Forum – to advise Government on how we might better support this important industry.

“I welcome the report. It raises many interesting and challenging ideas on how the UK’s live music scene can be further supported. We will now look at each of the recommendations, discuss with stakeholders and will respond fully in due course.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the members of the Forum for their hard work over the past three years.”
