Diamond Jubilee Emblem Competition
Youngsters given the chance to make their mark on Jubilee Celebrations.
Buckingham Palace and Blue Peter have launched a competition for 6 to 14 year olds, to design an emblem that will be used in the celebrations of The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012.
The winning emblem will appear on memorabilia from posters to commemorative teacups marking the Queen’s 60 year reign.
How to enter
Entries must be submitted on an A4 sheet of paper and include a crown somewhere in the design but not an image of the Queen.
Entries will be judged in three categories:
- 6 to 8 years old
- 9 to 11 years old
- 12 to 14 years old.
The 30 best entries in each age category will be judged by a panel of top children’s illustrators, Blue Peter staff and Royal Household staff.
They will choose one winner for each age category including the ultimate winner. Runners up prizes will include a trip to the Palace for the top 10 entries in each age category.
Deadline for entries is Wednesday 8 December. The winners will be announced in February 2011.
