Planning Applications Affecting Playing Fields - Cases 89753 and 89768

Question: Request for the following information;

a) details of the number of planning applications affecting playing fields that have been considered by Sport England, in its role as Statutory Consultee, since 2001;

b) a regional breakdown of the applications accepted;

c) how many of the applications were objected to by Sport England;

d) what proportion were deemed a threat to the provision of sporting facilities in the area.

e) details of any (1) meetings (2) telephone conversations and (3) emails that the Secretary of state for DCMS, and/or Ministers or officials working on his behalf have had in the past year with officials from Sport England or the Department for Communities to lower the threshold upon which Sport England must be consulted when a planning application for development is submitted.
