DCMS Simplification Plan 2006
The DCMS Simplification plan sets out the reductions to DCMS Administrative burdens that the Department proposes to undertake in the next 4 years.
The plan is an evolving one and it is anticipated that further versions of the plan will deliver further savings. Nevertheless this plan identifies savings of over 30% on our May 2005 baseline, significantly more than the 25% target imposed on all Government Departments.
In addition the plan recognises that many of the Department's areas do not have significant levels of administrative burdens. It therefore also includes simplifications to procedures and practices in non-administrative areas which will deliver significant savings. Many of these savings will lead to more lottery money being made available to applicants.
The plan is organised by DCMS policy area with a summary sections which identifies the major initiatives contained within the plan.
