Progress report on PSA3: Provisional estimates from the first six months of year three
The latest national statistics on PSA3 produced by DCMS were released on 26 June 2008 according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority.

In December 2006 the final baseline estimates on our target to increase the take-up of cultural and sporting opportunities by adults and young people from priority groups (PSA3) were published. The baselines used data collected from the first year of the Taking Part survey.
The survey is now in its third year and the latest progress report uses data from the first six months of this period, July to December 2007. The statistics update those previously released on 13 December 2007.
The report presents the results of the new data in two formats:
- The first compares the estimates from the latest six months with data collected during the same six-month period of year one. Using this method there were two changes large enough to be detected; these were significant increases in people from lower socio-economic groups and people with a limiting disability attending historic environment sites.
- The second format presents the rolling year estimates. This method uses the most recent 12 months of available data (the second six months of year two and the first six months of year three) and compares them with the final baseline estimates from year one. Using this method there was one change large enough to be detected; this was a significant decrease in people with limiting disabilities participating in active sport.
