taking part survey

England's survey of leisure, culture and sport

One of the Government's aims is to improve the quality of life for everyone, by providing people with the chance to get involved with a variety of sports, arts and cultural activities.

To support this aim, the “Taking part” survey was commissioned by us and our partner public bodies to collect data about engagement and non-engagement in culture, leisure and sport. This information helps us better understand those who do, and do not, engage with our sectors.

“Taking part' is a continuous national survey, achieving an annual sample size of around 29,000 people. The fieldwork for “Taking part” is being conducted by BMRB Social Research.
