Department for Culture Media and Sport
The Creative Britain strategy covers a wide range of issues. Its delivery requires considerable partnership working.
Our Creative Economy Programme (CEP) team works with other government departments and a range of organisations in the wider public sector to meet the strategy’s 26 commitments.
Implementation of the strategy is managed and coordinated by a governance structure that consists of five groups.
The Ministerial Board provides strategic direction for the CEP and identifies new challenges facing the creative industries. Its membership comprises Ministers from DCMS, BIS and eleven high-level, influential people from across the creative industries.
The Programme Board provides operational oversight of the delivery of the commitments and aims set out in Creative Britain. The Programme Board is made up of senior officials within DCMS, BIS and two non-executive members.
The Delivery Partners Group reports on the delivery of Creative Britain commitment projects. It is also a forum for DCMS’ partner organisations to share information, build relationships and identify areas for collaboration. Members of this group include: NDPBs, the creative industries sector skills councils, public organisations and officials from BIS and DCMS.
This group consists of operational-level officials from DCMS and BIS tasked with managing the day-to-day implementation of Creative Britain’s commitments.
