In the UK there are 58 designated wreck sites under the Protection of Wrecks Act 1973
Designated heritage assets in England include 372,038 listed building entries, 19,717 scheduled monuments, 9,374 conservation areas and 1,587 registered parks and gardens
The UK currently has 26 World Heritage Sites of which 16 are in England, 4 in Scotland, 2 in Wales, 1 in Northern Ireland and 3 in overseas territories
Since 1994, the Heritage Lottery Fund has awarded £3.3 in 18,000 awards
