Number 10 and DCMS will be flying the St George’s Flag in support of the England Football Team, whilst they are playing in the World Cup 2010 in South Africa.
Individual UK Government departments may decide whether to fly the St George Flag in support of the England team. Please note that only buildings with two or more flag poles may fly the St George’s Flag. It should be flown alongside the Union Flag, which should be in the superior position.
In accordance with the flag flying guidance, the Saints’ flags of the Union will continue to be flown on their appropriate saint days.
Individuals, local authorities and other organisations may fly the Union Flag or the Flag of St George whenever they wish, subject to planning permission from the local authority for the flag pole.
